Job Description
Flynn Group is a prominent restaurant franchise operator, having established itself as a significant player within the Panera Bread system since entering in 2015 with the acquisition of 47 cafes. Over the years, Flynn Panera has expanded impressively and now stands as the second largest Panera franchisee globally, driven by its continuous efforts to build new stores and acquire franchise operators. This growth reflects Flynn Group's commitment to operational excellence and market leadership in the fast-casual dining sector. Flynn Panera operates under a decentralized business model, empowering each geographic area with a dedicated Market Leader who is accountable for overseeing performance and growth. Strategic leadership trickles down from Market Leaders to Area Directors, General Managers, Assistant Managers, and Team Managers, creating a robust leadership hierarchy that ensures the smooth running of every café.
Flynn Panera is part of the larger Flynn Group portfolio, which includes several iconic brands such as Applebee's, Arby's, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness. Founded by Greg Flynn in 1999, Flynn Group has grown to become the world's largest franchise operator, managing diverse restaurant segments and championing a core set of values: Care Genuinely for People, Play Like a Champion, and Win as One. These values serve as a foundation for creating a welcoming environment where employees and customers alike feel valued and respected.
The role of Manager at Flynn Panera is a critical leadership position responsible for providing excellent management and fostering a positive, engaging, and productive café environment. Panera Bread cafes are known for their upscale, friendly atmosphere featuring artisan baked breads, pastries, made-to-order soups, salads, sandwiches, and specialty espresso beverages. Managers play a key role in maintaining the cafe's reputation for quality and customer service in a grease and alcohol-free setting, with no fryers and no late-night shifts, making it an appealing workplace for morning people.
As a Manager, you will supervise up to 75 staff members, ensuring that high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, food safety, and facility management are consistently upheld. Your leadership will inspire your team to deliver exceptional customer experiences while creating a profitable and efficient operational environment. The role requires passion for the restaurant industry, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to coach, counsel, and motivate employees to reach their highest potential.
This managerial position demands a strategic mindset, balancing day-to-day operational responsibilities with longer-term planning to drive sustained profitability. You will have direct accountability for business performance, including ordering, labor management, marketing, catering, bakery operations, and facilities oversight. Your ability to recruit, develop, and retain team members will be essential to the continued success and growth of your café.
Flynn Panera offers a competitive hourly wage for Assistant Managers, ranging from $25.00 to $26.00 per hour, in addition to monthly profit sharing and overtime opportunities. Employee benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance starting one month after employment, 401(k) plan with company match, paid vacation and sick leave, meal discounts, and opportunities for professional development.
The company strongly values the health and safety of its employees, requiring managers to maintain physical stamina to stand and move for up to ten hours and safely lift weights up to 50 pounds. Flynn Panera is committed to diversity, inclusion, and providing reasonable accommodations during the hiring process and employment.
Overall, a management role with Flynn Panera offers a rewarding career opportunity in a fast-paced, supportive environment committed to quality, community, and growth. You will be joining a respected leader in the restaurant industry with over 190 years of collective experience within the team and a clear mission to be the premier operator of Panera Bread cafes worldwide.
