Job Description
Our hotel is a vibrant and well-established hospitality establishment dedicated to providing exceptional guest experiences while maintaining operational excellence. Known for its welcoming atmosphere and commitment to quality service, the hotel serves a diverse clientele including business travelers, tourists, and families. The management team emphasizes a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth, aiming to exceed guest expectations and optimize business performance in a competitive market.
The role of Assistant General Manager (AGM) at our hotel is a pivotal position that supports the General Manager in driving the overall success of the property. The AGM works closely with the General Manager to ensure that the hotel’s financial objectives are met or exceeded while upholding high standards of service and operational efficiency. This key leadership role is designed as a training ground for future Hotel General Managers, offering hands-on involvement in all critical decision-making processes and strategic discussions.
As Assistant General Manager, the individual will play an instrumental role in revenue management by analyzing monthly profit and loss statements and assisting in the development of budgets. Regular coordination through team meetings fosters a collaborative environment where coaching and training of the Front Desk team are prioritized. Ensuring the team maintains a guest-first attitude, anticipates needs, and delivers attentive service is essential to the hotel's success. Furthermore, the AGM will manage room inventory and rate strategies to maximize revenue, and conduct thorough inspections to guarantee the hotel meets cleanliness and maintenance standards.
The Assistant General Manager is also responsible for developing and maintaining programs that assure quality standards across all hotel departments. This includes overseeing internal control programs, payroll approval, accounts receivable, and security protocols, ensuring guest safety and property protection. Effective guest relations are a priority, with regular solicitation of guest feedback and prompt, professional responses to social media and written reviews. The AGM also supports the hiring, training, counseling, and motivation of team members, handling disciplinary procedures in alignment with company policies. This role demands strong leadership, organization, and interpersonal skills to foster a positive working environment and maintain high employee morale.
This full-time position requires the AGM to work four or five shifts per week at the Front Desk, integrating frontline operational experience with managerial responsibilities. This combination equips the Assistant General Manager with a comprehensive understanding of hotel operations, preparing them for future leadership as a General Manager. Our hotel offers an enriching environment with opportunities for career advancement, professional development, and the chance to contribute significantly to the hotel’s continued growth and success.
