Known for its commitment to quality products and reliable customer service, the company operates with a strong safety-first mindset, prioritizing the well-being and development of its employees. As a subsidiary of CRH, an international organization with a decentralized and diversified structure, Texas Materials offers the unique advantage of a smaller company environment while providing extensive career opportunities. The company is highly focused on building and supporting Texas infrastructure through its high standards and dedication to community improvement. Texas Materials values an inclusive culture that encourages growth, internal promotions, and professional development. The company supports its team members with competitive base pay, comprehensive medical, dental and disability benefits programs, and health and wellness initiatives to promote a positive work-life balance. This position is full-time and offers a competitive salary in line with industry standards.
As a Quality Control Technician (QC Tech) at Texas Materials, you will be entrusted with essential responsibilities that ensure the high quality of materials and production processes. This role involves inspection, testing, and documentation related to plant facilities, focusing on aggregates, asphalt, and other construction-related materials. The QC Tech plays a key role in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with customers, facility managers, Department of Transportation officials, as well as state, county, and municipal personnel. Building strong connections with suppliers is also a critical aspect of this role.
The Quality Control Technician must evaluate volumetric data necessary for adjusting mix production to ensure compliance with all project specifications and regulatory requirements. Duties include the application of accepted quality control methods to inspect, sample, and test materials for consistency and contract compliance. Close collaboration with production teams and adherence to DOT regulations ensures that the mixtures meet or exceed standards for every project. This position requires accuracy in recording and maintaining test results, timely certification acquisition, and meticulous upkeep of laboratory equipment and relevant certification documents.
Safety is paramount in this role, and the QC Tech must ensure a safe work environment by following company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations. The job also requires active participation in daily tasks assigned by management, general cleaning duties, and the flexibility to work nights, weekends, and travel as necessary. The ideal candidate exhibits strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in teams, and effective communication capabilities. Basic computer proficiency with email and spreadsheets, along with the ability to perform simple mathematical calculations, are essential.
This comprehensive role offers the opportunity to grow within a leading industry company supported by a culture focused on employee development and safety. Texas Materials provides a rewarding career path with the backing of CRH’s global network, empowering employees to contribute to key infrastructure projects and thrive in a supportive work environment.
