Augusta University Medical Center, now known as Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center, is a comprehensive healthcare network based in Augusta, Georgia. It serves as the primary teaching and patient care site for the Medical College of Georgia.

The center offers a wide range of medical services to the community and the Southeastern United States. It includes a 478-bed adult hospital and a 154-bed Children’s Hospital of Georgia, making it the largest healthcare provider in the region.

Specialized Services

Augusta University Medical Center features the region’s only ACS-verified Level I Trauma Center, serving patients from over 13 counties. It also provides specialized transplantation programs for pancreas and kidney.

Merger and Partnership

In August 2023, Wellstar Health System completed a merger with Augusta University Health. This resulted in renaming the facility to Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center. The partnership aims to enhance financial stability, medical training, and patient care throughout Georgia.
