Position: LABORER
About: The Forest Preserve District of Cook County is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Laborer for various maintenance tasks across District properties. This position involves manual labor for the upkeep of vehicles, buildings, and equipment, as well as maintaining outdoor spaces and providing assistance to visitors at different locations.
Requirements: Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or higher; must be at least 18 years of age; must have a valid driver’s license; must have at least 2 years of full-time professional landscape experience, or 2 years of janitorial experience, or previous employment as a Seasonal Laborer with the Forest Preserve District, or at least 1 season of work experience in a related crew; ability to work an 8.5-hour schedule typically between 5:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.; familiarity with and ability to use various tools and equipment; physical ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform manual labor in various weather conditions; teamwork and communication skills.
