About: The current vacancy is in the Department of Families, Children, and Youth. The position involves preparing and cooking all food served to children and staff members of Early Learning Centers using various methods. Responsibilities include estimating food consumption, requisitioning food, preparing menus, setting tables, cleaning the kitchen, washing dishes, and supervising food service workers. This is a 1716 Union Position with 40 hours per week.
Requirements: Completion of the eighth grade and one year of experience in cooking and preparing a variety of foods, including large scale cooking; Hartford residency preferred; Degree or transcript must be attached to the application; Application must be completed fully with required documentation; Physical examination, drug and alcohol screening, and background check required; Probation period of 3-12 months if appointed
