Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma (GSWESTOK) is a prominent organization dedicated to empowering girls through a variety of leadership experiences, skill development, and community engagement activities. As part of a national movement, GSWESTOK serves girls across western Oklahoma, providing them with opportunities to develop confidence, courage, and character in a nurturing and supportive environment. The Event Specialist role at GSWESTOK is a dynamic position critical to the successful execution of the council's program events and activities. Reporting to the Director of Programs, this role focuses on helping to deliver high-quality, age-appropriate events while collaborating closely with volunteers and other staff members, including the Camp/Outdoor Specialist. The Event Specialist is responsible for managing and expanding programming not only within the Oklahoma City Metro area but also throughout the broader council jurisdiction, aiming to increase girl membership and participation in Girl Scout events.
This full-time position requires creativity, adaptability, and strong organizational skills to plan and implement engaging programs aligned with the Girl Scouts Leadership Experience framework. The Event Specialist plays a key role in ensuring that all programming meets designated leadership outcomes and remains relevant to girls' interests and needs today. The individual will lead efforts in volunteer coordination, vendor management, budget tracking, and process improvements while fostering relationships with community assets and stakeholders.
The position demands availability to work evenings and weekends, as well as weekly leadership at Resident Camp and Day Camp, highlighting the community-oriented and immersive nature of Girl Scout programming. The Event Specialist also supports the Director of Programs in marketing initiatives and impact assessments, contributing to continuous enhancement of program quality based on participant feedback and data analysis. A collaborative mindset is essential as the Event Specialist works closely with various internal teams, camp staff, volunteers, and external partners to ensure seamless delivery and evolution of programming initiatives.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Previous experience in nonprofit or youth program settings preferred
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills

Job Duties
- Communicate and manage timelines, workflow and responsibilities to effectively execute programs
- Highly detail-oriented with a strong ability to identify inconsistencies, ensure accuracy, and maintain high standards
- Help track multiple program budgets with oversight from the Director of Programs
- Maintain vendor management throughout the planning and execution process
- Support continued process improvements within planning and execution process
- Plan and strategize the delivery of high-quality programs using volunteers, community assets and varied delivery systems
- Collaborate with the Director of Programs to supervise volunteer committees and implement program events
