Job Description
MHD is a leading nationwide on-site occupational health, safety, and industrial hygiene services provider headquartered in Broomfield, Colorado. Since its founding in 2019, MHD has rapidly expanded to a team of 51 employees delivering essential safety compliance services to over 2,000 organizations, including notable clients like Northrop Grumman, Nebraska Medicine, NPR, and Owens Corning. With a mission to enable Work Without Worry and a brand promise of Safety Made Simple. Compliance Made Certain, MHD has carved a niche in delivering OSHA-required compliance and safety testing services with precision, professionalism, and a personal commitment to client safety.
The company specializes in four primary services: Respirator Fit Testing, Audiometric Hearing Testing, Pulmonary Function Testing, and Noise Level Surveys, all of which are critical to ensuring employee health and legal compliance in a variety of industries. Central to MHD’s vision is its 10-year objective to become the number one private employer of veterans and retired first responders in the U.S., reflecting its deep respect for individuals with backgrounds in disciplined, safety-critical professions.
MHD is currently seeking part-time Workplace Safety Responders to join its nationally distributed field team. This role is ideal for individuals who have experience in uniformed services, emergency response, or military backgrounds and desire a professional role that leverages their skills in high-stakes environments. The position involves frequent travel to client sites within a broad regional territory, encompassing metropolitan areas on the northeast, central, and west coast of the United States. The job demands meticulous adherence to OSHA protocols and MHD's methodologies, requiring a calm, competent professional who can execute compliance testing accurately and communicate results clearly to client employees.
A Safety Responder at MHD serves as the trustworthy, expert face of the company at client locations. They conduct hands-on testing while maintaining a non-negotiable standard of safety and professionalism that supports workers going home safe every day. Responsibilities include conducting accurate respirator fit tests, hearing tests, pulmonary function assessments, and noise level surveys while explaining procedures and results in straightforward language. The role also involves setting up, calibrating, and operating specialized portable testing equipment and ensuring timely, precise electronic reporting of each visit.
The position is part-time with variable hours, usually between two and four workdays per week, and requires extensive regional travel, including occasional overnight stays and air travel for larger projects. The physicality of the job involves handling equipment weighing 25 to 50 pounds and the ability to work independently in varied client environments. MHD covers all training, certifications, and travel expenses, including lodging and meals, highlighting its investment in team members’ success and development.
MHD values a strong commitment to its core values: attention to detail, courage to do what is right, personal accountability, and continual improvement. These principles guide the team in delivering exceptional service and maintaining the highest safety standards. The company provides a clear growth path, with opportunities for experienced Safety Responders to advance into leadership roles such as Territory Managers and specialist positions.
Compensation for this role includes an hourly pay rate of $25.00 with a $200 daily minimum when on deployment. The company fully supports certification requirements by covering training and renewal costs after initial field training completion. MHD guarantees all travel and equipment expenses, ensuring that responders have everything necessary to perform their duties without personal financial burden.
Joining MHD as a Workplace Safety Responder offers an enriching opportunity to contribute meaningfully to workplace safety nationwide while working within a supportive, mission-driven organization. Candidates who possess strong communication skills, a clean driving record, a willingness and ability to travel regularly, and a passion for maintaining uncompromising safety standards will find this position rewarding both professionally and personally.
