The position available is an Educational Aide role within the Learning Commons at the Blount Center of SF. This position is an essential part of student and faculty support services, where the aide provides valuable assistance and guidance to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The Educational Aide plays a crucial role in creating a professional, helpful, and welcoming atmosphere that ensures anyone who comes to the Learning Commons receives accurate information and courteous service. The aide supports visitors by greeting them, responding to inquiries, directing them appropriately both in person and over the phone, and assisting with office functions such as distributing mail and managing office supplies.
This role also involves administrative support duties for faculty and staff, handling sensitive and confidential information with strict adherence to privacy and security regulations such as FERPA. The educational aide must comply with college rules, procedures, and public employee laws regarding document retention, confidentiality, and general office conduct. The position demands adaptability and excellent communication skills to serve a multicultural environment effectively, alongside strong organizational and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced academic setting.
Applicants for this role must be currently enrolled Santa Fe College students in good academic standing, taking a minimum of six credit hours. The role requires maintaining a 2.5 GPA and passing a criminal background check. Job Requirements
- Must be a currently enrolled Santa Fe College student
- Must be in good academic standing

Job Duties
- Provides a professional, helpful, and welcoming atmosphere by greeting, responding to, and directing visitors in-person and over the phone
- Distributes mail and office supplies and operates and maintains copier/printer
- Accepts, screens, and routes telephone calls concerning activities and operations of the office, directing inquiries as appropriate and/or providing information
- Assists with event setups
- Provides administrative support to the faculty and other staff members
- Strictly honors the privacy and security of student records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state, federal and college regulations, policies, and procedures
- Complies with all published College Rules, procedures, guidelines, and laws/regulations governing public employees, including but not limited to those related to document retention and destruction, FERPA, and confidentiality
- Provides service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement
- Performs other duties as assigned
