Job Description

TriMark USA is the nation’s largest provider of design services, equipment, and supplies tailored for the foodservice industry. Founded in 1896 and headquartered in Massachusetts, TriMark USA has a rich history spanning over a century, during which it has established a reputation for excellence and innovation. The company operates nationally with multiple locations, delivering comprehensive support to foodservice operators by combining expert design capabilities with robust market knowledge. TriMark USA’s extensive network enables them to provide purchasing strength, efficient delivery, installation, and after-sales service, making them a trusted partner for businesses ranging from small restaurants to large-scale foodservice operations. The company holds strong to its core values encapsulated in the acronym I.C.A.R.E.: Integrity, Customer Service, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence. These guiding principles underscore every interaction and ensure that clients receive not only high-quality products but also dedicated, personalized service.

The Technical Designer role at TriMark USA assumes a vital position in the commercial kitchen design process. Reporting to the Woodshop Manager and based out of the Omaha, Nebraska office, this full-time, in-office position is integral to the development of detailed draft layouts, production drawings, and client presentation materials. The designer works collaboratively with architects, engineers, and cross-functional teams across various regions to ensure the seamless integration of design elements within each project. This role is more than just technical drafting; it requires a deep understanding of commercial kitchen equipment, cabinetry, and layout design, requiring the use of advanced software tools including AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microvellum CAD/CAM systems.

This position demands someone who can modify architectural drawings to match on-site conditions and create precise submittal drawings for both customers and production use, ensuring the proper layout of equipment and millwork. The Technical Designer contributes to the creation of technical specifications and design documents, actively maintaining project files and collaborating with senior team members to stay updated on best industry practices. The role also calls for strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently within tight schedules, meeting deadlines while managing the complexities that come with rapidly changing priorities.

In addition to technical prowess, the ideal candidate must excel in communication and client service skills, offering effective solutions that address both design and operational challenges. There is a preference for candidates with experience in the woodworking industry and those familiar with relevant software such as Revit, Navisworks Manage, BIM360, Smartsheet, AutoQuotes, and KCL. A willingness to undergo a background check as a condition of employment is also required.

TriMark USA’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and belonging is deeply embedded in its corporate culture, as the company seeks to strengthen its workforce and client relationships by embracing diverse perspectives. Employment with TriMark includes access to competitive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, tuition reimbursement, pet and legal insurance, 401k with employer match, and opportunities for recognition through awards and certification programs. Leadership roles may qualify for performance-based bonus programs. TriMark maintains an open and respectful work environment, offering equal opportunities for all applicants and employees without discrimination based on race, gender, age, disability, or other protected characteristics.
