The role of Wok Cook at Ocean Palace is an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals passionate about Asian cuisine, particularly Cantonese dishes. The position involves preparing ingredients and cooking dishes using wok stations, following established recipes to maintain the restaurant’s high standards. Wok cooks will work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, ensuring all dishes are cooked to perfection and delivered promptly. This role requires operating woks safely and efficiently, monitoring ingredient levels, and maintaining cleanliness and organization at the wok station and surrounding prep areas. In addition, the Wok Cook must ensure the quality, freshness, and consistency of food leaving their station, adhering to all sanitation, food safety, and personal hygiene standards. The position also includes assisting with the training of kitchen staff and performing tasks assigned by kitchen shift leads and managers.

The employment type for this position is hourly, with a competitive pay rate of $18-20 per hour. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior wok cooking experience required
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to work flexible shifts including mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderately heavy objects
  • strong communication skills
  • willingness to learn and follow instructions
  • positive attitude and teamwork orientation
