Effective communication and teamwork with peers and other departments are essential to maintaining smooth kitchen operations and restaurant success.

In addition to food preparation, Wok Chefs assist in training and coaching peers to uphold Bento standards, handle product rotation and storage according to safety guidelines, and maintain cleanliness and upkeep of equipment and workstations. They are also required to participate in staff meetings, statutory training, and deep cleanings to continually improve their skills and the restaurant’s operational standards. This role includes physical responsibilities such as standing for extended periods, performing repetitive movements, carrying heavy objects, and working under varying environmental conditions such as heat, steam, and cold.

Health, safety, and hygiene are top priorities at BENTO. Wok Chefs must uphold all regulations set by the DBPR, FDA, DOH, and company policies, including food safety practices, proper sanitation, and waste minimization. The ServSafe Certification or equivalent knowledge is mandatory and must be completed within 90 days of employment. Wok Chefs also represent the company in public and on social media while wearing the uniform, exemplifying professionalism at all times.

Employment type is typically full-time or part-time with flexible scheduling that may include nights, weekends, and holidays, aligning with the restaurant's operational needs.
