Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent
- Must be 21 years of age
- Experience working with wine and beer
- Retail experience
- Knowledge of imported and domestic wine varieties and flavor profiles
- Knowledge of industry trends in specialty wines and beers
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math
- Willingness to pass wine test once employed
Job Qualifications
- Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing)
- Knowledge of imported and domestic wine varieties and flavor profiles

Job Duties
- Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service
- Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return
- Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals
- Monitor all established quality assurance standards
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Answer customer questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store
- Offer product samples consistent with company guidelines and applicable laws
- Inform customers of wine specials
- Provide customers with requested products
- Recommend wine items to customers to meet their needs
- Assist customers with pairing wine and other items such as meat, cheeses, desserts
- Collaborate with store chef for wine tastings and other promotional programs
- Stay current with seasonal, special, and future ads
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and logs are recorded
- Reinforce safety programs and comply with safety procedures
- Identify and report unsafe conditions to store management
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections of equipment
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents
- Report safety risks and illegal activities including robbery, theft or fraud
- Perform essential job functions safely with or without accommodation
