We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Wine and Sake Assistant to join our esteemed beverage team in a full-time, non-management role. The ideal candidate will play a crucial part in supporting the sommelier team by ensuring efficient bottle service, maintaining cellar and storage stock, and assisting with various wine and sake-related duties. This position requires someone who is passionate about delivering excellent guest service with a friendly, courteous demeanor while working seamlessly with the larger service team.
As a Wine and Sake Assistant at The Setai, you will be responsible for restocking the sommelier station, cellar, and bars before, during, and after service to ensure smooth operations. You will monitor inventory levels, notify the Head Sommelier when items are running low or unavailable, and assist in weekly inventory tasks to maintain accurate stock records. Additionally, you will support the Head Sommelier with daily and weekly wine ordering, help allocate deliveries to proper storage locations, and maintain proper organization according to established procedures.
This role requires attention to detail, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to maintain a positive attitude while interacting with guests and colleagues. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in beverage service or hospitality preferred
- Knowledge of wine and sake is a plus
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Job Duties
- Provide friendly, courteous and efficient service to all guests with making eye contact, smiling and maintaining proper posture
- Keep sommelier station stocked with wine, sake, premium wine glasses and wine tools necessary for each service
- Get bottles of wine/sake to sommeliers for tables having wine/sake service in a timely manner
- Restock cellar when needed before, during, and end of service
- Restock bars at the beginning and end of dinner service
- Put away new wines in storage and notify Head Sommelier when items are 86ed and/or low
- Maintain stock in proper order as to procedural guidelines set forth by Head Sommelier
- Work as a member of the beverage team
- Interact with service team in a positive manner
- Assist Head Sommelier with maintaining stock in designated wine areas
- Work with Head Sommelier to facilitate inventory weekly
- Assist beverage receiver allocating wine and sake deliveries to appropriate storage areas
- Support Head Sommelier preparing wine orders on a daily/weekly basis
- Follow proper time and attendance and uniform procedures
