The role of a Host/Hostess at Flanigan's Seafood Bar and Grill is pivotal to the smooth sailing of each dining service. This position requires a charismatic and professional individual who will serve as the initial point of contact for guests, representing the warm and inviting spirit of the establishment. The host or hostess is responsible for greeting guests with a cheerful and courteous temperament, efficiently managing the wait list, and ensuring that guests are promptly and comfortably seated. This role extends beyond mere seating duties; it includes maintaining the cleanliness and order of the foyer and host station, restocking menus, overseeing restroom standards, and handling guest inquiries both in person and over the phone with professionalism and accuracy. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in customer service or hospitality preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Strong communication skills
  • Availability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Pass background check

Job Qualifications

  • Can reach bend stoop frequently
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to speak read and write English
  • Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
  • Complete and pass food safety certification program in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes

Job Duties

  • Displays and maintains a cheerful and courteous temperament as well as displays a neat and clean professional image
  • Greets guests
  • Engages guests while escorting them to table in a timely manner
  • Efficiently manages the wait list for seating
  • Communicates guests’ questions or concerns to Manager on duty
  • Keeps foyer host/hostess station wait area clean and free of debris restocks and cleans menus
  • Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guest
  • Answers telephone within 4 rings and answers guests’ questions and/or directs guests to proper staff member
  • Conclude guests’ visit
  • Perform shift changes opening/closing duties assigned sidework
