Job Description
Embark Behavioral Health is a dedicated mental health organization located in Washington, Utah, known for its Sunrise long-term Mental Health Residential Treatment Center. Their facility provides a compassionate and secure environment tailored for children and adolescents aged 12-17 who are on a journey of healing and personal growth. Situated against the picturesque backdrop of southern Utah, this center balances clinical expertise with a nurturing atmosphere, enabling young individuals to thrive both mentally and emotionally. The campus is designed to feel home-like and safe, fostering an environment where healing is not just clinical but deeply personal and transformative. This approach reflects Embark Behavioral Health’s commitment to blending clinical excellence with heartfelt care, making it a leader in residential mental health services within the region.
The role offered is a part-time Cook position, with an hourly pay rate ranging from $15.00 to $18.00. The job is based on-site at 3585 S Camino Real, Washington, UT 84780, requiring work primarily over weekends—specifically Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. This schedule is ideal for candidates looking for meaningful part-time employment that allows them to apply their cooking skills independently while making a direct impact within a behavioral health setting. This role uniquely combines culinary expertise with a sense of purpose, focusing on preparing meals for small, personalized groups including both clients and staff. It is an opportunity to use food as a therapeutic and supportive tool, important in the overall healing process of adolescents receiving treatment.
As a Cook at Embark Behavioral Health's Sunrise center, you will be entrusted with preparing two meals each for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, alongside mid-meal snacks to ensure food is always available. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with the residential staff to serve meals in a timely manner, maintain the kitchen’s cleanliness, orderliness, and safety, and prepare food ahead of time for the following day's menu. The role requires someone who enjoys working independently, possesses a servant heart, and can adapt to the special dietary needs often presented by the clients. Experience cooking for adolescents or those in therapeutic settings is highly valued, as is the ability to maintain high standards of health codes and food safety. The position offers the chance to be part of a community that values diversity and inclusivity, as Sunrise is an equal opportunity employer.
