Known for its beautiful spaces and commitment to service excellence, Scarritt Bennett Center stands as a premier destination for clients seeking a memorable and personalized event experience. The center combines historic charm with modern amenities, offering flexible event spaces, top-notch accommodations, and comprehensive catering services, all designed to accommodate unique client needs and styles.
The Part-Time Wedding and Special Events Sales Coordinator at Scarritt Bennett Center plays a crucial role in supporting the organization’s growth by aligning with its mission and core values. This role involves assessing client needs comprehensively and providing expert guidance to create detailed and successful event plans, with an emphasis on weddings. The coordinator’s responsibilities are diverse, encompassing event planning, coordination, sales support, and on-site event execution. This position requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of customer service and hospitality.
Working closely with the Director of Sales, Marketing & Development and the Wedding & Special Events Manager, the coordinator helps establish event objectives and strategies that ensure every occasion meets and exceeds organizational standards. The role demands strong interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with both internal staff and external vendors, such as florists, photographers, and rental companies. A deep understanding of wedding protocols and food and beverage industry principles is essential to deliver impeccable service and memorable experiences.
In addition to driving sales of event spaces, accommodations, and catering services, the coordinator assists with maintaining and organizing customer and vendor lists, sales materials, and event documentation. The position requires proficiency in using project management software and, ideally, knowledge of event management tools to streamline operations and enhance client communication. Flexibility in scheduling is critical, as events often occur during evenings, weekends, and holidays, requiring the coordinator to adapt to diverse time commitments.
The ideal candidate is well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage several deadline-driven projects concurrently. They possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to professionally present sales options and represent Scarritt Bennett Center at external functions. Collaboration is key in this role, as the coordinator works across multiple departments to ensure seamless event execution. Physical demands of the job include the ability to lift items weighing up to 25 pounds, walk, stand, bend, and operate light equipment, reflecting the dynamic and hands-on nature of event coordination.
Overall, the Part-Time Wedding and Special Events Sales Coordinator position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a respected and impactful organization. By facilitating successful events and enhancing client satisfaction, the coordinator helps Scarritt Bennett Center continue its tradition of excellence in hospitality and community connection. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about event planning, eager to grow their expertise, and committed to delivering outstanding service in a historic and inspiring environment.
