Job Description

Leigh & Co. Events is a rapidly expanding wedding planning company operating across the entire United States, with a strong presence in Mississippi. Specializing in wedding design, coordination, and planning services for engaged couples, Leigh & Co. Events prides itself on delivering exceptional experiences tailored to each client’s unique vision and style. As a company dedicated to excellence, Leigh & Co. Events combines creativity with meticulous organization to ensure every wedding runs flawlessly from start to finish. With a commitment to professionalism and personalized service, the company supports its planners through comprehensive training and a flexible, contractor-based employment model that allows planners to manage their own schedules.

The Lead Wedding Coordinator role with Leigh & Co. Events offers a unique opportunity for individuals looking to advance their careers in wedding planning. This contract position is specifically designed for planners interested in managing and executing weddings on-site, making it ideal for those who enjoy being hands-on and engaging directly with both clients and vendors. The position offers competitive compensation of $275 per project, covering 10 to 12 hours of dedicated service. Starting with the 2026 wedding season and continuing beyond, this role allows planners to work independently while aligned with the company’s standards and client experience goals.

As a Lead Wedding Coordinator, you will take on the critical role of leading the planning and execution phases for wedding events, acting as the primary point of contact on the day of the wedding. Your responsibilities include attending a final details call approximately six weeks prior to the event to confirm all logistics, timelines, and expectations alongside clients and client experience managers. You will then guide the ceremony rehearsal the day before the wedding, ensuring every participant understands their cues and flows smoothly through the processional. On the wedding day itself, you will oversee the full spectrum of event coordination, from vendor arrivals and set-up to final breakdown and packing.

This role demands excellent communication skills, keen attention to detail, and an unshakable calmness to effectively manage any challenges or last-minute changes that may arise. You will serve as the couple’s advocate throughout the event, ensuring their vision is upheld while creating a seamless guest experience. Beyond managing vendors and logistics, you will assist with the placement of personal and event details such as escort cards, favors, and décor elements, while providing support and guidance to the wedding party and family members. This role requires physical stamina to carry and lift items up to 30 pounds and the flexibility to work weekends, essential for meeting the demands of wedding schedules.

Joining Leigh & Co. Events means becoming part of a company that values growth, creativity, and customer satisfaction. The company offers extensive training to help you succeed, empowering you to build your skills and establish yourself as a trusted wedding planning professional. If you are an individual with at least two years of experience in wedding or event planning, who is detail-oriented, communicative, and passionate about creating unforgettable wedding experiences, this contract Lead Wedding Coordinator position is an excellent fit. The company’s contractor model also affords you the freedom to balance personal commitments while pursuing a fulfilling career in the wedding industry.
