Job Description

Leigh & Co. Events is a fast-growing wedding planning company that operates throughout the entire United States, providing comprehensive wedding design, coordination, and planning services to engaged couples. With a focus on creating memorable and seamless wedding experiences, Leigh & Co. Events caters to a wide variety of clients by offering personalized planning and event execution aimed at making each wedding unique and stress-free. This company has developed a strong reputation in the wedding industry for its professionalism, commitment to quality, and attention to detail, supporting clients from the initial consultation all the way through to the last moments of the celebration.

As a leader in the wedding planning sector, Leigh & Co. Events is looking to expand its team by hiring Lead Wedding Coordinators specifically in Alaska. This role presents an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about event planning and the wedding industry who want to bring their skills to the next level. The Lead Wedding Coordinator position is a contract role, which offers schedule flexibility, making it ideal for planners who want to tailor their work hours while still engaging in fun and rewarding projects. The compensation for this role ranges between $350 and $400 per project. Each project requires a commitment of 10 to 12 hours, encompassing preparation, onsite coordination, and post-event wrap-up. Leigh & Co. Events provides comprehensive training for new hires, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to excel.

In this role, the Lead Wedding Coordinator acts as the primary on-site representative for the couple on their wedding day, working alongside client experience managers throughout the planning process and assistant coordinators during the event. The coordinator’s responsibilities include attending a final details call with clients about six weeks before the wedding to finalize logistics, timelines, and expectations. They then take charge of leading the ceremony rehearsal the day before the wedding to ensure all participants understand their roles, timing, and cues.

On the wedding day itself, the Lead Wedding Coordinator oversees the entire event setup, ensuring it aligns with the design and the established day-of execution playbook. They serve as the main liaison for all vendors, directing and communicating setup instructions to maintain coordination and flow. The coordinator is responsible for managing the entire wedding day execution from the initial vendor arrivals to final breakdown, guaranteeing an exceptional and smooth experience for the couple and guests. This involves coordinating the placement of personal and event details such as escort cards, menus, table numbers, favors, guest books, and décor elements, as well as providing support to the wedding party and family members with guidance and timing cues.

A key aspect of the role involves problem-solving and maintaining a calm, solutions-focused demeanor throughout the event. Coordinators are expected to proactively manage and resolve any issues or last-minute changes professionally to preserve the integrity and smoothness of the guest experience. At the end of the event, they ensure all end-of-event items are safely packed and accounted for. Joining Leigh & Co. Events not only offers the chance to work in a dynamic and creative environment but also provides ongoing learning opportunities and the chance to be part of a company that values excellence in wedding planning.
