Job Description
Leigh & Co. Events is a rapidly expanding wedding planning company operating nationwide across the United States, committed to delivering exceptional wedding design, coordination, and planning services to engaged couples. With a reputation for professionalism and creativity, we specialize in creating memorable wedding experiences that reflect the unique personalities and styles of our clients. Our talented team of professionals collaborates closely with couples to ensure seamless execution of their special day from initial consultation to the final moments of celebration. As a company dedicated to excellence and client satisfaction, we continuously seek enthusiastic and detail-oriented individuals to join our team for the upcoming 2026 wedding season and beyond.
We are currently seeking skilled Lead Wedding Coordinators to join us in Alaska. This role is a contract position offering substantial flexibility, allowing planners to set their own schedules while being compensated between $350 and $400 per project based on 10 to 12 hours of service. Training is provided for all new hires to ensure they are fully prepared to meet the high standards Leigh & Co. Events is known for. The role primarily involves serving as the lead planner onsite, providing expert guidance and support to couples, vendors, and our internal teams throughout the wedding day. Lead Coordinators work closely alongside client experience managers during the planning phase and assistant coordinators on event days to guarantee flawless ceremony and reception execution. Responsibilities include participating in final details calls approximately six weeks before the wedding to review logistics and timelines, leading rehearsal ceremonies to instill confidence in participants, and managing all aspects of vendor coordination on-site.
Further duties include overseeing ceremony and reception setup in alignment with the event design, resolving any issues or last-minute changes to ensure a smooth guest experience, and acting as the primary point of contact for all vendors and the wedding party. This position demands excellent communication skills, detail orientation, and the ability to maintain a calm, solutions-focused presence on what is often a fast-paced day. The Lead Wedding Coordinator will also be responsible for ensuring that all personal and event elements such as escort cards, menus, and décor are correctly placed and that all end-of-event items are properly packed and accounted for. Working weekends is essential for this role, as wedding events frequently occur during those times. Additionally, physical requirements include the ability to carry and lift up to 30 pounds, and reliable transportation is necessary for travel to various wedding venues within Alaska.
