Job Description
Chateau Del Mar is a distinguished banquet and event venue located in Hickory Hills, Illinois, renowned for its ability to host a wide array of events ranging from elegant weddings to grand galas and social celebrations that can accommodate intimate groups as well as large guest lists exceeding 1,000 attendees. With decades of service in the Chicagoland market, Chateau Del Mar has established itself as one of the premier destinations for event planning, known for its exceptional hospitality and meticulous attention to detail. The venue offers a sophisticated ambiance, comprehensive event services, and a talented leadership team dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences for clients and their guests.\n\nThe Wedding & Event Sales Manager role at Chateau Del Mar is a vital leadership position within the company’s hospitality team. This role demands an experienced, polished, and highly organized sales professional who excels in a fast-paced, high-volume event environment. Candidates are expected to have a balanced skill set that includes sales expertise, exceptional client relationship management, and an operational mindset geared towards flawless event execution. This is not an entry-level position but a hands-on leadership role with a focus strictly on event sales, client communication, and overall event management rather than banquet floor operation or restaurant management.\n\nKey responsibilities include managing comprehensive event details such as timelines, logistics, and vendor coordination; conducting venue tours and client consultations; and building lasting client relationships through professional, confident, and organized communication. The role requires supporting contract preparation and event planning documentation while collaborating closely with banquet managers, kitchen staff, and other operational teams to ensure every event runs smoothly. Candidates should be adept at negotiating within established pricing structures and be proactive in driving sales growth, upselling, and encouraging repeat business.\n\nIdeal candidates will have more than five years of significant experience in hospitality sales, catering, convention services, or event management, preferably managing large-scale weddings, social events, and galas. The ideal candidate must maintain composure under pressure, demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, and be capable of managing multiple complex moving parts simultaneously without compromising operational control or professionalism. Strong communication skills, meticulous organization, and a polished, client-focused approach are essential for success in this role.\n\nChateau Del Mar offers its Wedding & Event Sales Manager a competitive base salary complemented by commission and performance bonus opportunities. This position presents a long-term growth path within a well-established hospitality operation known for its supportive ownership, flexible scheduling, and robust operational procedures. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future growth of the venue, contributing to its legacy of excellence and client satisfaction.
