The role of Warehouse Prep Team Member at Salt & Straw is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position offering a competitive wage range of $17.10 to $18.25 per hour. This role is based at the Central Kitchen production facility and serves as an entry-level position in the Staging Department. The Warehouse Prep Team Member is instrumental in supporting the day-to-day production process. This involves preparing, organizing, and staging ingredients, materials, and packaging in alignment with established production schedules and food safety protocols. The team member is responsible for accurately portioning ingredients according to recipes and batch sheets, ensuring that the production teams have the right materials in the right quantities at the right time.
Working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, the Prep Team Member must adhere to strict cleaning, sanitation, and allergen-handling guidelines while utilizing inventory management procedures such as First-In, First-Out (FIFO) rotation. The role also includes using technologies like NetSuite to confirm ingredient accuracy and enhance workflow between departments. This role requires strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with Production, Quality, and Staging teams. This position is ideal for individuals with prior experience in food production, manufacturing, or warehouse environments who exhibit strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to perform repetitive physical tasks efficiently. Candidates must be comfortable working in refrigerated and freezer environments and comply with written and verbal instructions, including recipes and staging procedures. Job Requirements

Job Duties
- Accurately portion, weigh, measure, label, and stage ingredients following recipes, batch sheets, and company standards
- Assemble, organize, and stage ingredients, materials, and equipment according to production schedules
- Stage packaging materials including pint cups, lids, tubs, and related items to support production needs
- Clean, return, and properly store sub-assembly materials while following GMPs and allergen-handling protocols
- Transfer ingredients and materials as needed for thawing, down stacking, or production readiness
- Follow First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory rotation and material handling procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work area by following sanitation, safety, and hygiene standards
- Identify and report quality issues, discrepancies, or missing materials to leadership in a timely manner
- Use NetSuite to confirm ingredient accuracy and support efficient workflow between departments
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with Production, Quality, and Staging team members to support smooth operations
