The role of the Selector is integral to the warehouse's daily operations. The Selector is responsible for pulling case orders using an electric pallet jack, organizing products according to assigned routes, and loading them onto designated delivery routes. This position operates in a fast-paced team environment that demands attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and physical stamina. The Selector will work closely with operations clerks who assign orders and supervisors who oversee workflow and performance. This role requires the ability to efficiently select the appropriate items from the correct slots and handle products that may weigh up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 80 pounds. Working conditions include cooler environments and possibly confined spaces, requiring adaptability and the ability to maintain productivity under physically demanding circumstances.

Selectors also have the responsibility to perform various job functions assigned by supervisors, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute to the overall success of the warehouse team. The job includes independent decision-making when selecting items but also requires consulting with supervisors when uncertainties arise regarding the assigned tasks.
