The Restaurant Server role is a key position within Neiman Marcus, tasked with delivering impeccable service that aligns with the company’s high standards of hospitality. This role involves serving guests in the dining area with professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail. Successful candidates will demonstrate thorough knowledge of food preparation, culinary terminology, and beverage service, including wine, beer, and spirits. The position demands excellent multitasking abilities, gracious interaction with guests, and adherence to accounting procedures and POS system protocols.

Servers participate actively in daily pre-shift meetings to stay informed and prepared for the day. They are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the restaurant and workstation, upholding uniform standards, and ensuring customer safety and satisfaction throughout their shifts. Physical duties include lifting tables, chairs, and other equipment as needed, as well as standing, bending, and climbing stairs. Flexibility is essential, as the role requires availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business needs.

Job Duties

  • Serve assigned seating section of dining area in a professional and gracious manner
  • utilize thorough knowledge of food, including preparation and culinary terminology, to provide detailed information to customers about menu items
  • leverage knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits, including technical and service procedures
  • interact graciously with the public and handle multiple duties at the same time
  • participate in daily pre-shift meeting
  • adhere to established accounting procedures for all transactions, including all authorized methods of payment, and maintain knowledge of the POS system
  • execute pre-shift, post-shift, and daily and weekly duties as assigned by supervisor
