Job Description

Flik Hospitality Group, a division of Compass Group, is a leading foodservice provider committed to excellence in dining experiences across various sectors, including corporate dining, education, healthcare, and hospitality. Known for its dedication to quality, innovation, and sustainability, Flik Hospitality Group prides itself on creating vibrant dining environments that nurture connections and elevate the culinary experience. With a focus on nurturing talent and fostering a culture of inclusivity and respect, Flik has built a reputation for empowering its associates through comprehensive training and career development opportunities. The company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion reflects its core values, ensuring a workplace where every individual’s voice and contribution are valued. This ethos underpins the company’s success in delivering outstanding service to its clients and guests. Situated in vibrant Austin, Texas, Gabriel's Cafe is one of Flik Hospitality Group's flagship locations where guests enjoy a welcoming and dynamic dining atmosphere characterized by high-quality cuisine and attentive service. The cafe prides itself on its warm ambiance and attention to guest satisfaction, making it a sought-after dining destination in the area. This role focuses on joining the waitstaff team at Gabriel's Cafe to continue delivering the exemplary service Flik is known for.

The Waiter/Waitress position at Gabriel's Cafe is a full-time opportunity designed for individuals passionate about hospitality and customer service. The role entails not only taking food and beverage orders but also ensuring a seamless and pleasant dining experience for every guest. Working in a fast-paced environment, associates are expected to demonstrate efficiency, professionalism, and a thorough knowledge of menu offerings — including ingredients and potential allergens — to provide insightful recommendations and accommodate guest preferences. The position offers a fixed pay rate of $12.00 per hour, along with benefits such as free meals, uniforms, and laundering services at select locations. Candidates with previous serving experience are preferred, highlighting the importance of familiarity with service protocols, cash handling, and communication with kitchen staff. The role demands flexibility in scheduling, with varying days and hours, reflecting the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry.

At Flik Hospitality Group, the waitstaff plays a crucial role in exemplifying the company’s commitment to exceptional hospitality. Beyond the essentials of order taking and delivery, this role emphasizes guest interaction — greeting diners warmly, following established steps of service, and addressing any concerns proactively and respectfully. Waiters and waitresses act as ambassadors of the brand, ensuring that guests feel valued and well cared for throughout their visit. Associates are also entrusted with maintaining cleanliness and safety standards within the dining area and adhering to all food handling and sanitation regulations. Communication skills are paramount, as the role involves coordinating with both front-of-house and kitchen teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness of orders during regular service and special events. The job also encourages associates to engage in ongoing learning about the latest foodservice trends and service techniques, fostering personal and professional growth.

Joining Flik Hospitality Group means becoming part of a company that values its employees and invests in their well-being. Benefits extend beyond competitive compensation and include health and wellness programs, retirement plans, voluntary insurance options, employee assistance programs, and various discount opportunities. The company emphasizes an inclusive work environment where diversity of thought is celebrated, and every employee has the opportunity to thrive and contribute meaningfully. This is more than a job — it’s a pathway to building a lasting career in the hospitality industry with a supportive team and a respected company at the forefront of foodservice innovation.
