The role of Volunteer Coordinator at Community Food Share is integral to the organization’s operations and mission. This position supports the Volunteer Manager by orchestrating all volunteer functions within the organization, ensuring that volunteer efforts effectively bolster food distribution programs and organizational operations. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling, tracking, supervising, and reporting on volunteer activities, acting as a key liaison between volunteers and staff. This role requires someone flexible with their schedule, as the position demands open availability Monday through Friday with potential evening hours and occasional Saturdays. The coordinator is expected to work physically demanding shifts predominantly in a warehouse setting, managing dynamic volunteer teams including individuals, families, corporations, schools, and community groups. They play a leadership role in volunteer orientation, safety training, conflict resolution, and volunteer recognition events. Additionally, the Volunteer Coordinator is involved in outreach activities that promote Community Food Share’s mission and engages with various internal departments to coordinate volunteer needs. The role also includes responsibilities related to data management, reporting, and assisting with content creation for newsletters. Compensation for this position starts at $23.00 to $26.00 per hour and includes a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees.
