This role offers you an exciting opportunity to join the team at Tierra Verde Residence Inn, a prominent property under the Shaner Hotels umbrella located in the vibrant St. Petersburg area. The Tierra Verde Residence Inn is a 90-room hotel that features more than 875 square feet of versatile event spaces suitable for corporate gatherings and social occasions. Working here, you will be part of a dynamic hospitality team dedicated to providing superior service and an exceptional guest experience.

The position involves working at Vista at the Top, the rooftop bar and restaurant known for its incredible panoramic waterfront views, making it a prime location for guests seeking a memorable dining and beverage experience. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, including availability for weekends, holidays, and varied shifts to ensure continuous and seamless operations.

As part of the Food and Beverage Department, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all daily operational procedures, maintaining food and beverage safety and quality according to hotel and franchise specifications. You will uphold the operational standards and safe working conditions required to deliver exceptional service. Your duties also include responding to and handling guest-related issues with professionalism and promptness, maintaining open communication with the General Manager, other department managers, supervisors, and staff, and maintaining the cleanliness and stock of supplies in the outlet.

This position demands someone who can take orders, prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as light meals, ensuring courteous and efficient service. Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum one year of experience in the restaurant / food and beverage field
  • Minimum state age to serve alcoholic beverages
  • Ability to read and comprehend safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, management, and co-workers
  • Ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Willingness to maintain cleanliness and safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of experience in the restaurant / food and beverage field
  • Minimum state age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding
  • High school graduate or equivalent, some college preferred
  • ServSafe and/or food safety training a plus
  • Alcohol awareness training (such as TIPS)
  • Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls
  • Ability to accurately compute basic mathematical calculations
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
  • Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for clientele

Job Duties

  • Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts
  • Ensures compliance with and completion of all daily operational procedures by the Food and Beverage Department
  • Maintains food and beverage safety and quality based on hotel, Shaner, and Franchise specifications
  • Maintains and abides by standards and procedures for operations and safe working conditions in the department
  • Responsible for responding and handling guest related issues pertaining to the department
  • Ensures communication with General Manager, all other Department Managers, Supervisors and Staff
  • Other duties as assigned
