The VIP Birthday Party Host role within the VIP Experiences team at LEGOLAND California Resort is a part-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to work in an environment where imagination runs wild and every day is built for fun. This role is central to elevating the guest experience by delivering personalized, memorable, and high-energy interactions tailored especially for VIP guests. As a VIP Experiences Playmaker, you will work closely with the VIP Experiences team and the Commercial team to coordinate and host specialized events such as birthday parties, corporate functions, and VIP LEGO builds. The role demands an energetic, creative, and guest-obsessed individual who thrives on engaging with guests and bringing vibrant energy to each event.
In this position, you will be responsible for greeting and checking in guests for VIP LEGO build experiences, assisting as a build assistant, as well as helping with the setup and breakdown of various events. Your creativity and acquired knowledge of LEGO models and the resort experiences will be instrumental in crafting fun and engaging moments, ensuring that each VIP interaction is exceptional. Additionally, this role requires collaborating with the Guest Excellence team to uphold the Guest Obsession program, a key component of the resort’s service philosophy, which focuses on providing best-in-class guest service. Flexibility is essential, as the job involves working variable hours including evenings and weekends to support park operations.
The VIP Birthday Party Host position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to manage groups, sometimes large ones, with a warm and conversational approach. Candidates must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and capable of maintaining a high standard of guest service even under pressure. Knowledge of LEGOLAND Parks, the LEGO Group, and Merlin Entertainments is highly valued, or the ability to quickly learn extensive information about these. Physical demands include prolonged standing, walking, lifting up to 40 pounds, and performing tasks in varying working conditions, both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in wet or humid environments.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one-year experience in a guest service role or equivalent
- Must be able to stand and walk intermittently and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests and team members
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required
- Ability to manage groups of guests and deliver engaging experiences
- Must be able to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions including wet or humid environments
Job Qualifications
- Minimum one-year previous guest service role experience or equivalent
- Enjoys working directly with guests and has experience in a guest-focused role
- Possess ability to execute tasks in an orderly and timely manner and work well independently
- Extensive or ability to quickly learn knowledge of LEGOLAND Parks, LEGO Group, and Merlin Entertainments
- Experience facilitating workshops for groups of 15 or more people
- Ability to deliver information and interact with guests in a conversational manner
- Ability to work well under pressure while providing outstanding service
- Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Job Duties
- Provide memorable guest service while engaging with guests as you support guest flow and safety at all experiences and events
- Use your energy and brilliance to energize and engage with guests in specialized experiences
- Act as a representative of the resort by meeting or exceeding guest service expectations outlined in the Guest Obsession program
- Collaborate with the Guest Excellence team to create memorable experiences in line with Guest Obsession strategy
- Keep up to date on the latest LEGO models, attractions, and resort experiences to incorporate in VIP tours and communicate to hosts
- Quickly build relationships with VIP groups to create memorable experiences tailored to each member
- Utilize knowledge of LEGOLAND California Resort and LEGO creativity to craft and deliver fun, engaging experiences
- Cross-train in other subdivisions of the Resort such as Admissions and Guest Services
- Assist with check-in, build assistance, hosting birthday parties, and setup/breakdown of corporate events
- Perform other duties as required in the VIP Experience or Commercial department
