The hiring company is a well-established organization specializing in providing high-quality food service management within institutional settings such as assisted living facilities, hospitals, and community dining environments. With a strong commitment to excellence, this company prides itself on maintaining superior standards that comply with both internal policies and government regulations, ensuring the utmost satisfaction for residents and customers. The company continuously strives to enhance its food service quality, maintain efficient operational processes, and innovate in menu planning and event execution to meet the evolving needs of its clientele.
The open position is for a Food Service Director, a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of the food service operations within assigned communities. This includes conducting regular property visits, both announced and unannounced, to ensure compliance with cleanliness, sanitation, budget adherence, menu content, food preparation and presentation, as well as resident satisfaction. The Food Service Director plays an integral role in managing purchasing programs and negotiating pricing and service agreements with vendors to achieve the best balance of cost and quality.
This role also involves extensive collaboration with executive leadership, including the Executive Director and local Food Service Directors, to discuss visit outcomes and support staffing and operational challenges. The Food Service Director actively participates in hiring processes, training new personnel, and managing event planning for various community and marketing initiatives such as monthly in-services, executive dinners, themed events, resident surveys, and birthday celebrations. Additionally, the role entails developing and maintaining comprehensive food service policies and procedures in alignment with health and safety regulations.
Candidates for this position must have a formal education background in Food Service Administration or Institutional Management, coupled with significant hands-on experience, particularly in institutional or assisted living food service environments. The position demands strong leadership abilities, effective communication skills, and the physical capability to manage the dynamic environment of a food service operation, including occasional heavy lifting and exposure to kitchen heat and equipment.
This career opportunity not only offers a chance to lead a vital function within a respected company but also contributes to enhancing the quality of life for residents through thoughtfully planned and expertly executed food service. The role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about food service management, committed to excellence, and eager to make a positive impact in a community-focused setting. No explicit salary details are provided, but the employment is typically full-time with a comprehensive benefits package.
