Job Description
This esteemed hospitality establishment operates a vibrant entertainment and event-driven venue located in the bustling Atlanta market. Unlike a conventional restaurant, this venue specializes in hosting live music performances, large-scale events, and features a dynamic beverage program that caters to diverse audiences and event formats. With a focus on creating memorable experiences, the venue not only emphasizes exceptional guest service and safety but also maintains rigorous operational standards to support its high-volume and rapidly evolving event calendar.
The role of General Manager at this entertainment and hospitality venue goes beyond traditional management duties, requiring an experienced leader who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day operations including food, beverage, and events, ensuring that every event—from intimate live shows to large private functions and promoter activations—is executed flawlessly. Managing the complexities of a venue where the format, crowd, and operational demands vary widely from event to event requires a versatile and decisive leader who can adapt swiftly while maintaining outstanding service levels and operational integrity.
As General Manager, you will spearhead all operational aspects from staffing and scheduling based on an active calendar, to controlling inventory and costs within the beverage program, and coordinating with third-party vendors such as food trucks, sound and AV technicians, security personnel, and emergency medical services. An essential part of your role includes crowd management, security planning, and ensuring effective contingency plans for large-scale and high-volume events. You will also be tasked with managing the venue's profit and loss performance, labor forecasting, purchasing, and other controllable costs.
This leadership position calls for an approachable and organized individual with a minimum of five years of progressive hospitality or venue management experience, including at least three years in a comparable general manager role. The ideal candidate will bring a background in entertainment-driven hospitality, familiar with navigating the unique challenges associated with live music venues or other high-volume social concepts. You will be responsible for hiring, coaching, and developing managers and hourly teams, fostering a collaborative and accountable work culture dedicated to operational excellence and guest satisfaction.
The venue prides itself on a casual, down-to-earth atmosphere where teamwork and community engagement are central. Rather than focusing strictly on traditional restaurant service, the business revolves around music and events, with programming and talent booking managed by the executive and marketing teams. The General Manager is entrusted with ensuring that all activities within the venue run seamlessly, providing a consistently high level of quality in every aspect of the guest and event experience.
Compensation for this position includes a competitive base salary of up to $90,000, commensurate with experience, alongside the opportunity to lead a unique and dynamic venue that stands out in Atlanta’s entertainment landscape. Evening, weekend, and late-night availability are required, reflecting the nature of the business and its event schedule. This role is ideal for those who excel in dynamic, people-focused environments and are passionate about creating engaging entertainment experiences in the hospitality industry.
