The Valet Parking Attendant position within the University of Miami Health System is a full-time role based at the UHealth location at 1400 NW 12th Ave, Miami, FL 33136. The position offers an hourly wage of $14.00, with varying shifts to support operational needs. The role requires candidates to be fully vaccinated against MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella), varicella, hepatitis B, COVID-19, and have received a recent flu shot, which must be validated during the interview process. As a Valet Parking Attendant, you will be an essential part of the operations team, tasked with the safe and efficient parking and retrieval of vehicles while delivering excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff. You will coordinate the full valet process, including greeting guests warmly, handling keys and tickets accurately, and expertly managing electronic devices to track vehicle information. The Valet Parking Attendant must be physically capable of walking or running for extended periods, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating cars including manual transmission vehicles. Previous experience in valet parking is preferred but not mandatory. Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain professional during challenging situations are crucial. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will collaborate closely with the Operations Manager and shift supervisors to uphold operational efficiency and exceptional service levels.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Must successfully pass a background check in accordance with company policy and applicable laws
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to provide documentation verifying eligibility
  • Must provide proof of required vaccinations MMR varicella hepatitis B COVID-19 and recent flu shot
  • Ability to walk or run for extended periods
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to operate guest vehicles including manual transmission
  • Must be able to work varying shifts
  • Must maintain professionalism during customer interactions

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous valet parking experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and use sound decision making in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles a plus
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record

Job Duties

  • Coordinate the full valet service process from arrival to departure including greeting guests retrieving keys issuing tickets and entering customer information
  • Park and retrieve guest vehicles safely and efficiently ensuring proper vehicle placement and accurate tracking of vehicle location
  • Inspect vehicles for pre-existing damage and document findings using electronic or manual ticketing systems
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by building rapport responding promptly to inquiries and providing directions or assistance as needed
  • Act as a professional brand ambassador by courteously interacting with guests opening vehicle doors and assisting with unloading and loading personal items
  • Maintain vehicle safety and security by directing traffic positioning barricades monitoring ramp or drive areas and arranging towing services when required
  • Request collect and accurately process applicable valet fees assist with reconciling end-of-shift revenue and ticket distribution
  • Retrieve vehicles promptly for waiting guests and assist with luggage or personal items when necessary
  • Immediately report incidents accidents or claims to the Operations Manager or Shift Lead
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with guests clients supervisors and teammates at all times
