Job Description

Towne Park is a leading hospitality services company with nearly 40 years of experience dedicated to creating exceptional arrival to departure experiences. They provide fully integrated technology and operations platforms to deliver parking and hospitality-focused solutions in various environments, including residential, educational, workplace, entertainment, rejuvenation, and healthcare facilities. With a team of over 14,000 members, Towne Park is known for its commitment to creating smiles and memorable guest experiences for millions of people every year. The company prides itself on being an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity employer, promoting diversity and inclusivity while providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities and veterans. Towne Park’s dedication to service excellence extends beyond just the role, fostering a welcoming and professional environment for both employees and guests.

This seasonal, part-time Valet Attendant role is based at the Torrance Marriott and offers an opportunity to be the first impression guests have when they arrive, playing a vital part in their overall experience. The position compensates $17 per hour plus tips, with an additional $1 per hour shift differential for overnight shifts. Working Monday through Sunday, you will engage in a variety of responsibilities that blend hands-on vehicle and luggage handling with administrative duties and customer service. This role is not only about parking cars safely and efficiently; it is about providing first-class hospitality by greeting guests warmly, offering assistance with luggage, and helping with directions or other inquiries to enhance the guests’ stay.

As a Valet Attendant at Towne Park’s Torrance Marriott, you will be expected to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times, consistently providing exemplary customer service with a friendly and respectful attitude. The role requires a keen attention to detail when issuing claim checks, tracking vehicle details, and managing guest folios. You will also be responsible for accurately explaining parking rates, retrieving vehicles safely, and handling guest revenue collections in a courteous manner. Beyond vehicle services, assisting guests with bell services and luggage, opening doors, and delivering or picking up luggage, are key components of the role, rounding out a truly comprehensive hospitality experience.

Towne Park values foundational skills such as proficiency in basic math operations, reading and writing standard English, understanding timekeeping systems, and the ability to communicate clearly in one-on-one or small group settings. Candidates with the ability to operate manual transmission vehicles and perform parallel parking will find these skills especially beneficial. Due to the outdoor nature of the work, employees must be prepared to work in varying weather conditions and be capable of physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 100 pounds, standing or sitting for long periods, and other movements like running, climbing stairs, or crouching.

While this seasonal position does not include benefits like health insurance or retirement contributions, Towne Park offers a range of benefits to its permanent employees, including accident and critical illness insurance, hospital indemnity insurance, telemedicine, and a 401k savings plan. This role offers an opportunity to be part of a respected and growing company that values its people and prioritizes guest satisfaction through teamwork, attentive service, and operational excellence. If you enjoy engaging with guests and providing a positive first and last impression, this is an excellent role to gain experience and be part of a dynamic hospitality team.
