The position of Guest Service Associate at Towne Park is pivotal in maintaining the company’s high standards of hospitality. This role is centered around providing attentive, friendly, and efficient service to guests while managing vehicles safely and assisting with luggage. With an hourly base pay of $12.75 plus tips, this position offers a competitive and fair compensation that reflects the candidate’s skills, experience, education, and location. The Guest Service Associate role requires open availability to accommodate the flexible scheduling demands typical in hospitality settings.

In this role, associates act as the ambassadors of Towne Park, ensuring guests feel welcomed through professional greetings and personalized interactions, using guest last names when appropriate. Duties include parking and retrieving vehicles cautiously, assisting with bell services and luggage, opening doors for guests, and providing helpful information about the facility and local attractions. The associate also plays a critical role in processing parking transactions, managing claim checks, and maintaining accurate records related to vehicles in the valet system. Beyond the physical tasks involved, the role demands exemplary communication skills, an understanding of customer service principles, and the ability to respond to guest inquiries promptly.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Valid driver’s license for the state applied to work or commutable distance
  • One month related experience and/or training
  • Ability to read and write standard English
  • Ability to perform basic math operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Ability to effectively present information in small group and one-on-one settings
  • Physical ability to exert force up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 20 pounds constantly
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to follow established operational procedures and guidelines
  • Ability to understand and communicate parking rates and procedures
  • Commitment to safety while operating vehicles

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license for the state you are applying to work, or within a commutable distance from the state you are applying to work
  • One (1) month related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
  • Ability to read and write standard English
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
  • Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money
  • Ability to understand 24 hour and military time systems
  • Ability to understand rates applicable to time passed
  • Ability to operate a manual transmission is highly desirable
  • Ability to perform parallel parking

Job Duties

  • Maintains pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all guests, co-workers, and clients
  • Acknowledges and greets guests within five feet with a professional and friendly demeanor
  • Uses guest last names during interactions
  • Uses salutation of the day and welcomes guests to the location
  • Practices proper Towne Park phone etiquette
  • Posts up in designated areas when not completing tasks
  • Parks and retrieves vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously
  • Assists guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed
  • Opens all vehicle and hotel doors for guests
  • Assists guests with directions, taxis, reservations and other inquiries
  • Provides guests with information about outlets, meeting rooms and/or amenities of the facility as well as main attractions in the area
  • Delivers messages, items and/or guest amenities as requested
  • Shuttles guests to appropriate places that are approved by the location
  • Explains parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests upon arrival
  • Issues claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys and collects claim checks from all guests prior to issuing keys
  • Consistently completes and maintains all ticket information including key tag, guest folio, location of vehicle, damage survey and claim check receipt from all vehicles taken into the valet system
  • Consistently completes location on all key tags after parking vehicle
  • Calculates and collects revenue for vehicles when needed
