The Guest Service Associate role at Towne Park is pivotal in maintaining the high standards of guest relations and operational excellence. The position is offered with an hourly wage starting at $22.50 plus tips, with an additional $1.50 shift differential for overnight shifts. Guest Service Associates serve as the front line of customer interaction, requiring them to acknowledge guests promptly, use courteous language including guest last names, and maintain a professional phone etiquette. The role includes detailed tasks such as issuing claim checks, managing vehicle keys, calculating parking fees, and ensuring accurate record-keeping of vehicle and guest information. Additionally, the associate assists guests with inquiries related to local amenities, taxi services, reservations, and other special requests. The job demands physical stamina due to outdoor work in varying weather conditions, as well as the ability to lift heavy luggage and occasionally exert significant physical effort when handling vehicles and equipment.
This position also mandates a valid driver’s license appropriate to the state of employment due to vehicle operation duties, and prior experience or training in related customer service or hospitality roles is preferred. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license for the state of employment or within commutable distance
- One month of related experience or training
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to handle physical demands such as lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Availability to work Monday through Sunday including overnight shifts
- Ability to perform tasks requiring physical stamina such as walking, standing, kneeling and climbing
- Willingness to follow established practices and procedures
- Ability to maintain professional demeanor under pressure
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must hold a valid driver’s license for the state of employment or within commutable distance
- One month related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
- Ability to read and write standard English
- Ability to comprehend simple instructions and write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Ability to understand 24 hour and military time systems
- Ability to understand rates applicable to time passed
- Ability to operate a manual transmission is highly desirable
- Ability to perform parallel parking
Job Duties
- Maintain pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all guests, co-workers and clients
- Acknowledge and greet guests within five feet using guest last names
- Use salutation of the day and welcome guests to the location
- Practice proper Towne Park phone etiquette
- Park and retrieve vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously
- Assist guests with bell services and luggage storage
- Open all vehicle and hotel doors for guests
- Assist guests with directions, taxis, reservations and inquiries
- Provide guests with information about outlets, meeting rooms, amenities and main area attractions
- Deliver messages, items and guest amenities
- Shuttle guests to approved locations
- Explain parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests
- Issue claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys
- Collect claim checks prior to issuing keys
- Complete and maintain all ticket information including key tag, guest folio, vehicle location, damage survey and claim check receipt
- Calculate and collect revenue when needed
- Consistently complete location on all key tags after parking vehicle
