Job Description
This job opportunity is with a customer-focused hospitality establishment that values excellence in guest services and operational efficiency. The establishment is devoted to providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors, emphasizing courteous assistance, safety, and the smooth handling of arrivals and departures. Located in a dynamic environment, this role offers a chance to be part of a team that thrives on interaction and customer satisfaction.
The role is specifically designed for individuals who are outgoing, friendly, and enjoy engaging with people. It primarily involves greeting residents and guests as they arrive and depart, providing assistance with baggage, packages, groceries, parking, and sharing valuable information regarding hotel services and local amenities. This part-time position operates on a schedule that includes night shifts on Friday and Saturday from 11 pm to 7 am, as well as evening shifts on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4 pm to 12 am. The compensation is set at $16.50 per hour.
As someone in this role, you will be responsible for meeting the needs of arriving and departing residents, ensuring a seamless experience that reflects positively on the establishment's reputation. You will be in charge of handling baggage and packages with care, assisting guests in registration processes, and answering inquiries related to shopping, dining, entertainment options, and travel directions. Maintaining the condition of equipment and promptly reporting any maintenance issues will also be part of your duties.
The role requires resolving and following up on any complaints or issues raised by guests, maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to safety procedures, and performing other related duties as assigned. Because of the nature of the job, physical requirements include the ability to lift heavy items ranging from 50 to 100 pounds, the stamina to work long standing periods, and the ability to work under various environmental conditions such as heat, cold, wind, and rain.
This position is ideal for candidates with a high school diploma or its equivalent, a valid Florida Driver License, and strong customer service and communication skills. Fluency in multiple languages is considered a desirable asset in this role, with previous experience in a similar capacity preferred. The establishment has a commitment to equal opportunity and accommodates candidates requiring alternative selection processes or reasonable accommodations in accordance with disability laws.
Beyond the immediate job duties, employees benefit from a comprehensive package that includes multiple medical plans, dental and vision coverage, paid time off, paid holidays, and a 401k plan with company match. Occasionally, there may be the need for travel to training sessions or company events, allowing for further professional development and engagement within the company.
The job description emphasizes that it is not exhaustive and that management holds the right to make schedule or duty adjustments as necessary. Additionally, an Automated Employment Decision Tool (AEDT) is utilized in candidate evaluations to ensure objective and fair hiring practices aligning with job-related qualifications and competencies. Information regarding the AEDT and data policies is available upon request, particularly for candidates in jurisdictions such as New York City with specific local laws regarding employment assessments.
