The Kitchen Supervisor will be responsible for leading all associates in the kitchen, ensuring that each team member is properly trained and equipped to perform their duties with excellence. This includes coaching on plate presentation, display work, and other critical culinary tasks. The supervisor will also manage scheduling, personnel evaluations, and disciplinary actions to sustain high productivity and morale. Effective communication between management and kitchen associates is a vital part of the role, requiring both verbal and written skills. This role demands someone who can promptly address kitchen issues, oversee food preparation compliance, and contribute to inventory and staff meetings regularly. A key responsibility is to uphold quality and consistency by ensuring that all food served meets the established recipes and presentation standards.

In addition to supervising the kitchen team in the Executive Chef's absence, the Kitchen Supervisor maintains crucial records such as use logs, roast meat charts, and recipe documentation. The position also involves ensuring timely payroll submission and balanced staffing that maximizes coverage while minimizing labor costs. Taste testing and quality assurance for every meal period are integral tasks, alongside adherence to sanitation standards and approved cleaning schedules. The supervisor must also assist in managing costs regarding food, labor, and other kitchen-related expenses while fostering a positive working environment aligned with human resource policies.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous kitchen supervisory experience
  • Ability to handle and operate kitchen equipment safely
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Willingness to comply with safety and sanitation regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary arts or related field education preferred
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a kitchen environment

Job Duties
