SSP America is currently hiring for the position of Utility/Dishwasher Worker, an essential role that supports the smooth operation and cleanliness of our airport restaurants. Responsibilities of the Utility/Dishwasher Worker include cleaning and sanitizing various surfaces and equipment, managing refuse, assisting with food handling and storage, and supporting the front-of-house staff to deliver excellent guest service. This role demands a reliable individual capable of standing for long periods and working in confined spaces, with experience in the retail or food service industry preferred. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in English and possess any necessary certifications such as a food handler’s permit.

Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • minimum 6 months experience working in retail or food service environment
  • must be able to read, speak, and understand English
  • food handlers permit as required by law

Job Duties

  • Create a positive guest experience by cleaning and maintaining hygienic work areas
  • maintain the cleanliness of all surfaces and equipment including floors, ceiling tiles, walls, windows, worktables, hoods, vents, grills, refrigerators, service counters, and storage areas
  • remove refuse to designated areas
  • clear and reset tables in dining areas between seatings and transport service-ware to the kitchen for cleaning
  • scrape food from dirty dishes, pots, and pans and wash them by hand or load dishwasher and return them to their proper storage place
  • clean equipment using specific chemicals to meet sanitary standards, which may include use of heavy equipment
  • assist all guests with specific requests and communicate special needs to server or supervisor
  • load and unload supply trucks transferring items between storage and work areas
  • stock, date, rotate, and check the temperature of food items
  • perform other duties as assigned
