The Specialist - Housekeeping Floor plays a crucial role at The Venetian Resort by ensuring that all public and guest areas on the floors are impeccably maintained. This position requires a dedicated professional who will be responsible for the deep cleaning and upkeep of hallways, stairwells, guest elevator lobbies, specialty cleaning in suites, and various other assigned areas. The specialist will use advanced cleaning techniques such as extracting, shampooing, and spot-cleaning carpeting, as well as stripping and waxing floors. Attention to detail and adherence to departmental and resort-wide policies and procedures are essential to succeed in this role.
In addition to routine cleaning tasks, the Specialist - Housekeeping Floor assists housekeepers by stripping linen and removing trash from suites as directed by the floor manager. The role also demands maintaining safety standards and security measures, such as proper chemical handling, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of assigned work areas, and securing any keys or devices assigned during the shift. With responsibilities extending to carpet, marble, furniture, and upholstery care, this specialist plays a vital part in preserving the resort's luxurious ambiance and guest satisfaction.
The role requires the ability to operate commercial cleaning equipment like vacuum cleaners, extractors, shampoo machines, and buffers safely and effectively. Job Requirements
- 21 years of age
- proof of authorization or eligibility to work in the United States
- high school diploma or equivalent
- 6 months of hotel experience or similar cleaning environment
- must possess knowledge of proper chemical handling
- must be able to communicate on two-way radio/device
- ability to operate commercial vacuum cleaner
- must be able to demonstrate ability to read, understand and follow MSDS and OSHA guidelines
- must follow safety practices regarding cleaning methods
- must use correct cleaning chemicals per OSHA and hotel requirements
- must be able to work with others and provide guidance
- must know all equipment used including extractors, shampoo machines, buffers
- must communicate clearly and effectively in English
- must work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
- must be able to lift or carry 75 pounds unassisted
- must be physically able to perform job functions and access property areas
- must maintain composure under pressure
- must interact appropriately with guests and team members
- must be able to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel for prolonged periods

Job Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age
- proof of authorization or eligibility to work in the United States

Job Duties
- Assist housekeepers with the stripping of linen and removing of trash from suites when instructed by floor manager
- extract shampoo and spot all carpeting in assigned work areas
- strip and wax floors in assigned work areas
- monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
- perform deep and general cleaning of suites
- provide carpet, marble, furniture, and upholstery care
- maintain locker rooms
- remove all trash from the floor
- ensure security of any assigned keys or beeper
- review assignment sheet and update completed assignments
- check with floor manager for additional assignments throughout the shift
- provide accurate directions and information for guest inquiries
- ensure safety and compliance with procedures
- perform other related duties as assigned
