This role primarily involves operating tractor-trailer units within the Walmart facility yard to facilitate the movement and placement of trailers. The selected associate will manage trailer inspections to ensure mechanical safety, emergency equipment readiness, and appropriate fuel levels, while also maintaining inventory checks and records in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The position requires effective communication with various stakeholders including customers, suppliers, and fellow associates. The successful candidate will utilize warehouse management systems such as yard management radios to execute their duties efficiently. Job Duties

  • Communicate with or to individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing eg customers suppliers associates
  • Maintain trailers by inspecting to ensure that mechanical safety and emergency equipment is in good working order maintaining proper fuel levels and performing trailer inventory checks
  • Utilize warehouse management systems eg yard management system radio to move trailers to designated locations within the yard
  • Ensure quality by maintaining records logs and forms including any forms required by the Department of Transportation DOT
  • Operate tractor-trailer unit safely by adhering to all safety requirements to include placing trailers in designated locations
  • Respect the individual by embracing differences and fostering a culture of belonging
  • Act with integrity by maintaining high standards of ethics and compliance
