The role being offered is a vital maintenance and operations position responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of Walmart’s fleet and shop equipment at its facility located in Alachua, Florida. This position involves performing basic to intermediate inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements on trailers, tractors, yard trucks, and shop equipment according to company and federal regulatory standards. This role requires following established procedures for maintenance tasks such as servicing brake systems, handling tractor trailer tires, and managing fuel drops with safety and compliance at the forefront. Communication plays a significant part in the job, as it involves interacting with customers, suppliers, and fellow associates both verbally and in writing, as well as maintaining accurate work records and logs.

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- perform inspections and preventative maintenance on Walmart equipment including trailers, tractors, yard trucks and shop equipment
- create and process work orders based on assessment of maintenance, repair and replacement needs
- repair and replace brake system components including air, antiskid, scam, ABS and disc brakes
- replace leaky wheel seals and dismount/install tractor trailer tires following company and DOT guidelines
- communicate verbally and in writing with customers, suppliers and associates
- complete work orders, records, logs and other documentation accurately
- receive and monitor fuel drops for safety compliance, conduct fuel sampling and complete necessary paperwork
