The role of a Class A Delivery Driver at Core-Mark is critical to maintaining the country’s food supply chain. Drivers are responsible for ensuring that customer orders are delivered on time, in good condition, and with professional customer service that reinforces strong client relationships. This position is open to all experience levels and offers competitive pay starting at $29.50 per hour during training, with compensation tied to stops, loads, and miles once training is complete. Top performers can earn between $80,000 and $100,000 in their first year. The job follows a Monday through Friday schedule with team routes and emphasizes safety, adherence to Department of Transportation regulations, and accuracy in handling delivery documentation. Drivers also conduct thorough vehicle safety inspections and maintain the cleanliness and readiness of their equipment. This role requires physical stamina to handle freight weighing between 10 to 90 pounds using equipment like lift gates and two-wheelers. Successful candidates must possess valid CDL-A licenses, meet state licensing requirements, maintain a clean driving record, pass a drug test and background check, and hold or be eligible to obtain a DOT Health Card. Job Requirements

  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • Meet all required state licensing and certification standards
  • Clean driving record for at least 3 years
  • Successful completion of post offer drug test and background check
  • Pass road test evaluation
  • Hold or obtain DOT Health Card
  • Physical ability to lift between 10 and 90 pounds using appropriate equipment
  • Willingness to comply with DOT and company safety regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
  • Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
  • Must pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Attain or have current DOT Health Card or be able to secure a new DOT Health Card
  • Able to hand-lift and use equipment such as two-wheeler and lift gate to move freight

Job Duties

  • Perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation regulations
  • Inspect tractor/truck and trailer to ensure company safety standards are met and take action as needed
  • Report all safety issues and repairs required
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
  • Immediately report all safety hazards
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • Perform count check of items and verify customer invoices for loaded products
  • Complete all required freight paperwork accurately and legibly
  • Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
  • Unload products from trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas
  • Perform damage control checks on items and scan them, contacting supervisor about removing orders as per company policy
  • Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
  • Collect money where required
  • Load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors
  • Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are always appropriately locked and secured
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete necessary paperwork
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor and loading dock area
  • Secure all equipment and complete necessary paperwork at end of shift
  • Complete daily record of hours of service and enter in log according to Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
