The role of the Union Assistant Server, often known as the Server Assistant or Busser, is pivotal to the smooth operation of the dining experience. This position serves as a crucial link between the kitchen and dining area, assisting servers by managing food and beverage requests and ensuring that guests receive timely and attentive service. Ideal candidates must exhibit a friendly, enthusiastic, and professional demeanor as they interact with guests and team members in a fast-paced setting where continual customer contact is expected. The Union Assistant Server will be responsible for carrying out a variety of tasks designed to support the seamless functioning of food and beverage service. Responsibilities include pre-bussing tables, clearing and resetting tables after guest use, and running food orders efficiently from the kitchen to the dining area. Additionally, this role includes maintaining station readiness—ensuring that glassware and table setups are complete and replenished before the start of service. Side duties assigned by the Food & Beverage leadership team will also be expected to be performed with diligence and attention to detail. The position is physically active, requiring the ability to lift, pull, and push moderate weights, as well as work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays. Candidates must possess a California Food Handler’s Card, demonstrating their commitment to health and safety standards within food service. Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is necessary to communicate effectively with team members and guests.
