The Submarine/Undersea Systems Engineer position is a full-time role based at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC, and requires 100 percent onsite presence. This role involves providing acquisition support and life-cycle management of submarine and undersea systems. The engineer will manage all phases of project and systems management, from initial capabilities documentation to system delivery and ongoing life-cycle support. Key responsibilities include technical analysis, program and project management, scope and guidance for trade studies, production, and validation of technical configuration documentation, document control, and participation in milestone events and reviews. The position further requires coordination and participation in program and technical meetings, documentation of inputs, and monitoring of action items.

Candidates for this role will have a background in technical or engineering fields, with a Bachelor's degree preferred or an equivalent six years of experience. At least five years of experience in technical and program management support for submarine program acquisitions or life-cycle support is required. An active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI with CI Poly is mandatory. Desired qualifications include experience with undersea, deep submergence, remotely operated, or autonomous undersea systems as well as familiarity with Navy acquisition, shipbuilding, and the submarine and undersea domain. The typical salary range for this position is between $80,001 and $120,000, depending on experience and other factors. Job Duties

  • Provide acquisition support for submarine and undersea systems including all phases of project and systems management from initial documentation to system delivery and life-cycle support
  • Provide technical analysis and program/project management to support the acquisition of undersea systems
  • Provide scope, guidance, and assessment of trade studies and technical assessments
  • Produce, review, and validate technical configuration documentation and assist in document control
  • Schedule and support acquisition milestone events and reviews
  • Provide assessments and analysis for cost estimates and cost control actions
  • Coordinate and participate in program and technical status meetings, document inputs, proceedings, and track action items
