The role of the Driver, Hourly CDL-A at Core-Mark plays a vital part in sustaining America’s food supply chain. This position is essential not only for the timely and safe delivery of food and food-related products but also for fostering long-term customer relationships as the face of Core-Mark. The driver is entrusted with operating a tractor trailer or straight truck on varied routes including intrastate, interstate, local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight delivery schedules. The role demands adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies while ensuring that products arrive in excellent condition and on schedule. Drivers are expected to perform thorough safety inspections, manage freight counts, handle required paperwork, and engage professionally with customers and co-workers.
Compensation for this role includes competitive pay starting at $31 per hour plus component pay, a $10,000 sign-on bonus, and a $1,000 annual retention bonus. The schedule is Monday through Friday with dispatch occurring between 4:30 AM and 6:00 AM, structured as a 4-day workweek with optional overtime opportunities. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- valid CDL-A license
- minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience
- must be 21 years or older
- clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- pass drug test and criminal background check
- pass road test
- meet all state licensing or certification requirements
- able to hand-lift and use equipment for product movement
Job Qualifications

- 1+ years commercial driving experience
- valid CDL-A license
- must be 21+ years of age
- meet all state licensing or certification requirements where applicable
- clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- pass road test
- attain or have valid current DOT Health Card or able to secure new DOT Health Card
- able to hand-lift and use equipment to move product cases and freight of varying weights
Job Duties
- Perform all required safety checks including pre and post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
- follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- immediately report all safety hazards and inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- perform count check of items and verify customer invoices for loaded products
- move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
- drive and deliver customer orders according to route delivery schedule and unload products into designated customer storage areas
- perform damage control checks on items, contact supervisor about removing orders, verify delivery with customer and collect payment where required
