Job Description
DYNE Hospitality Group is a prominent operator in the hospitality industry specializing in cafe and restaurant management. With a strong emphasis on cultivating a dynamic and positive company culture, DYNE stands out by core values such as investing in people, understanding the reasons behind actions, making smart decisions, and making things happen. These values are deeply ingrained into every aspect of their operations, from hiring and promotions to daily team interactions, ensuring that all staff members work cohesively in alignment with the company’s principles. The company is known for fostering an environment where employees are empowered to grow professionally and personally, and where innovative ideas and customer-centric approaches are championed. This commitment to culture significantly distinguishes DYNE Hospitality Group from other operators in the sector, ensuring sustainable business growth and longevity.
The General Manager position at DYNE Hospitality Group’s cafe location offers a unique opportunity for driven individuals who are passionate about inspiring a healthy lifestyle through exceptional food and service with a tropical flair. This role is essential in leading the cafe’s daily operations, focusing on delivering top-notch hospitality and maintaining high standards of quality and service. Reporting directly to the District Manager, the General Manager will work flexible hours ranging typically from 50 to 55 hours per week, sometimes starting as early as 5am or working until midnight, depending on cafe hours. This full-time, salary-exempt position requires a motivated leader capable of driving sales while carefully managing costs, such as labor and food expenses.
In the role, you will be responsible for recruiting, training, and developing a strong team consisting of crew members, crew leaders, and an assistant manager. You will ensure the cafe remains staffed appropriately to handle daily operations smoothly. Your leadership will be centered on coaching and motivating employees, creating a positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork and excellence. You are expected to be hands-on, working alongside your team regularly to maintain operational efficiency and uphold brand standards.
Managing the cafe involves overseeing product preparation, quality control, customer service, and sanitation practices. You will handle inventory management, conduct weekly audits, monitor supply ordering processes, and reconcile invoices. Cash management duties such as daily safe counts and cash drawer audits are crucial responsibilities, along with bi-weekly payroll submissions. The General Manager will also participate in weekly conference calls, training sessions, and area meetings to stay aligned with company goals and updates.
This position is not only about managing logistics but also about embodying the company’s culture and fostering professional development. You will be accountable for achieving sales goals, managing labor schedules, and controlling inventory efficiently using specialized software tools like Micros MyInventory. Success in this role demands excellent communication skills, leadership capability, and a solid understanding of performance metrics including Profit and Loss statements.
Joining DYNE Hospitality Group as a General Manager means becoming part of a team that values integrity, innovation, and commitment to quality. The company offers competitive wages, benefits, and prospects for long-term career advancement. This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to influence the cafe’s success by inspiring both customers and employees every day.
