Job Description

This job opportunity is offered by a company specializing in culinary and food service operations that require dynamic and experienced culinary professionals. The company is dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences by maintaining high standards of food quality and service. As a Traveling Chef I, you will be an integral part of the company’s operational success, responsible for ensuring that food preparation and kitchen activities meet established standards consistently across various locations and events. This role offers an hourly wage ranging from $15.00 to $19.25 and operates on a flexible, event-driven schedule. The position is part-time with benefits including a 401(k) savings plan and matching, providing both monetary compensation and future financial security. The role of Traveling Chef I involves actively supervising, coaching, counseling, directing, training, and mentoring kitchen staff to meet company quality standards and maintain a positive work environment. This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong leadership skills capable of managing employee relations independently. You will have the flexibility to accept or decline each assignment as they become available; however, when accepted, completing all required shifts is mandatory. The ideal candidate must maintain excellent attendance, be available for variable schedules including nights and weekends, and exhibit a professional appearance coupled with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Traveling Chef I is key to both the quality and profitability of the culinary operations, ensuring that kitchen production processes are smooth and efficient, food safety standards are rigorously followed, and that all dishes meet the company’s specifications for taste, appearance, and portion control. You will assist the Executive Chef in administrative tasks such as inventory management, ordering, and organizing employee schedules to secure proper coverage for all kitchen areas. This role demands strong decision-making capability, flexibility, and a hands-on approach by working alongside kitchen team members to foster a cooperative and enthusiastic workplace culture. This position is best suited for those who can work independently yet collaborate effectively with teams, show initiative, and manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic food service environment. The Traveling Chef I not only monitors food preparation but also addresses personnel issues in coordination with human resources, ensuring staff are supported, trained, and motivated to excel. If you possess the ability to work efficiently under pressure and are committed to culinary excellence and staff development, this role offers a rewarding career path with stability and ongoing growth opportunities.
