Job Description

HonorVet Technologies is an esteemed Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), established in 2015, with proud certifications from NaVOBA and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. As a Joint Commission-certified clinical staffing agency, HonorVet Technologies specializes in providing highly skilled healthcare professionals, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses (LPNs/LVNs), Certified Nursing Assistants/Certified Medical Assistants (CNAs/CMAs), and Nurse Practitioners (NPs). The company works tirelessly to address veterans' unemployment challenges by offering meaningful career opportunities that both empower veterans and benefit communities nationwide. HonorVet's commitment extends beyond staffing to transforming lives and elevating care across diverse settings such as hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, elder care facilities, schools, and correctional institutions.

The current opening is with Unity Hospital located in Rochester, New York, a facility known for its comprehensive healthcare services. Unity Hospital is a 311-bed acute care hospital offering an extensive range of services that include an Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Family Birth Place, Surgical Services, and 14 Medical-Surgical Units. The hospital fosters a collaborative environment with a centralized staffing office and interdisciplinary teams that include pharmacy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, radiology, social services, and a rapid response team. This setting provides the right environment for a travel nurse RN Manager to not only thrive but significantly impact patient care and operational efficiency.

This role of a Travel Registered Nurse House Supervisor is a crucial leadership position responsible for overseeing the nursing staff on rotating shifts. The contract is for 12 to 13 weeks, with a start date of July 27, 2026, and encompasses 40 hours per week working 8-hour shifts that rotate among day, evening, and night. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing staffing coordination, emergency responses, and overall supervision to ensure that patient care standards meet the highest quality benchmarks.

The role demands that the house supervisor bring strong leadership skills, staffing coordination abilities, and emergency management experience. Essential certifications include an active New York State RN license, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS), with Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred but not mandatory. Experience in acute inpatient care, especially in medical-surgical and telemetry units, is required to navigate the complexities of patient care effectively.

Importantly, this position requires previous travel nursing experience and proficiency in using the Epic Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, underscoring the need for adaptability and technological competence. The job also involves a commitment to working every other weekend, which highlights the leadership and teamwork necessary for continuous patient care operations.

The pay package is based on 8-hour shifts’ workload, 40 hours per week, with a tax-free stipend amount to be confirmed, reflecting HonorVet Technologies’ dedication to equitable and competitive compensation for travel healthcare professionals. By working with HonorVet, nurses gain access to unique support and resources specialized for veterans and those who serve in healthcare. This opportunity not only advances nursing careers but also contributes meaningfully to community health outcomes and veteran empowerment initiatives.
