Job Requirements
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- one year recent experience as a labor and delivery RN
- current BLS certification AHA ARC
- NRP certification
- physical ability to remain stationary move about push pull and bend
- good interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to read write and communicate in English
- proficiency in PC skills
- ability to cope with stress and work under pressure
- visual acuity to effectively communicate
Job Qualifications
- One year recent experience as a labor and delivery RN
- valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- current BLS certification AHA ARC
- NRP certification
- AWHONN fetal monitoring certification preferred
- STABLE and ACLS certifications preferred
- excellent interpersonal communication skills
- ability to document patient care accurately
Job Duties
- Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families providing reassurance and addressing concerns
- administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques
- prepare equipment and aid physician during labor delivery and examination of patients
- provide immediate postpartum care including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn
- educate patients and families on postpartum recovery breastfeeding and newborn care
- collaborate with obstetricians anesthesiologists neonatologists and other team members to deliver cohesive care
- respond to obstetric emergencies including preeclampsia hemorrhage or fetal distress using evidence-based protocols
