Job Requirements

  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • one year recent experience as a labor and delivery RN
  • current BLS certification AHA ARC
  • NRP certification
  • physical ability to remain stationary move about push pull and bend
  • good interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to read write and communicate in English
  • proficiency in PC skills
  • ability to cope with stress and work under pressure
  • visual acuity to effectively communicate

Job Qualifications

  • One year recent experience as a labor and delivery RN
  • valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • current BLS certification AHA ARC
  • NRP certification
  • AWHONN fetal monitoring certification preferred
  • STABLE and ACLS certifications preferred
  • excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • ability to document patient care accurately

Job Duties

  • Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families providing reassurance and addressing concerns
  • administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques
  • prepare equipment and aid physician during labor delivery and examination of patients
  • provide immediate postpartum care including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn
  • educate patients and families on postpartum recovery breastfeeding and newborn care
  • collaborate with obstetricians anesthesiologists neonatologists and other team members to deliver cohesive care
  • respond to obstetric emergencies including preeclampsia hemorrhage or fetal distress using evidence-based protocols
