The current opportunity is for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery to join a healthcare facility in Missoula, Montana, on a 13-week travel assignment. This role involves working night shifts of 12 hours for three days a week, offering flexibility and competitive weekly pay. The Labor and Delivery RN is responsible for providing comprehensive care to expectant mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. The role requires strong clinical skills in obstetrics, critical thinking, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and care.

In this role, the RN will perform a variety of essential duties, including assessing maternal and fetal health, administering prescribed treatments, assisting physicians during labor and delivery, and educating patients and their families on postpartum recovery and newborn care. The position also demands preparedness to respond promptly to obstetric emergencies such as preeclampsia, hemorrhage, and fetal distress by adhering to evidence-based protocols. The RN will also assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures, document patient care meticulously, and participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing maternal and neonatal outcomes.

Candidates must hold a current and valid RN license compliant with state regulations, have at least one year of recent experience in labor and delivery nursing, and maintain certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). Preferred qualifications include AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification, STABLE, and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications. The role demands excellent interpersonal skills, physical stamina, technical competency in nursing procedures, mental resilience, and sensory acuity necessary to manage the dynamic and sometimes high-pressure environment of obstetric care.

Fusion Medical Staffing values its employees by offering a comprehensive benefits package that includes competitive pay, medical, dental, and vision insurance effective from the first day of assignment, paid time off after a specified number of hours worked, life and short-term disability insurance, 401(k) matching, and an aggressive referral bonus program coupled with 24/7 recruiter support. Additional reimbursement for licensure and continuing education units (CEUs) is also provided to support ongoing professional development.

Joining Fusion Medical Staffing means becoming part of an organization that prioritizes your professional growth and personal well-being. Whether this is your first travel assignment or an extension of your established career, Fusion equips you with the resources and support required to succeed and thrive in the travel nursing industry.
