Focus Staff is a leading healthcare staffing agency committed to connecting skilled travel nurses and allied health professionals with premier assignments across the United States. Known for its traveler-first approach, Focus Staff prioritizes the unique career goals and preferences of healthcare professionals, ensuring that each assignment aligns with their personal and professional aspirations. With thousands of job opportunities available in all 50 states, Focus Staff offers flexibility, competitive pay, and comprehensive benefits that empower healthcare workers to excel regardless of where their journey takes them. Beyond just placements, they support their clinicians with personalized services such as housing assistance, licensure reimbursement, and 24/7 clinical support, enhancing the overall travel assignment experience.
This job listing is for a Travel Critical Care Unit (CCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position based in Worcester, Massachusetts. This is a 13-week contract travel role with a start date in late July 2026. The candidate is expected to work 36 hours per week, specifically three 12-hour night shifts, providing critical care float services. The role demands a nurse who is proficient in handling high-acuity patients within the Critical Care Unit setting, with responsibilities spanning from patient assessment to care coordination and evaluation.
The Travel CCU RN plays a pivotal role in ensuring excellent patient outcomes by applying the nursing process — assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating — to deliver superior care. The RN is responsible not only for direct patient care but also for supervising ancillary and professional staff. They collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to design and implement individualized patient education and care plans tailored towards health maintenance and restoration post-discharge. The position also emphasizes maintaining professionalism, developing leadership skills, and engaging in continuous professional growth.
Focus Staff offers a rewarding package for this travel position, including weekly direct deposits, housing stipends, 401(k) with matching contributions, and bonuses for loyalty and referrals. Comprehensive insurance coverage including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance is available from day one without any waiting period. Additional perks encompass licensure reimbursement, exclusive hotel discounts, and even pet insurance to support a well-rounded lifestyle during assignments. Recruiters and clinical support teams are available around the clock to ensure seamless assignment experiences.
For experienced nurses with a minimum of two years of acute care exposure, particularly in critical care settings, this assignment is ideal for those seeking to broaden their professional horizons while enjoying the flexibility and excitement of travel nursing. The role requires current state licensure, recent critical care experience, and credentials such as the AHA ACLS provider certification. Preference is given to those holding CCRN certification and experience with ICU, ER, or surgical medical patients. Candidates must possess at least an Associate's degree in Nursing, though a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is strongly preferred.
Joining Focus Staff not only means securing a rewarding contract assignment but also becoming part of a network that deeply values your contributions and strives to support your career growth. This is an excellent opportunity for critical care nurses who want to make a meaningful impact while experiencing new clinical environments across different regions. With a focus on safety, professional development, and quality patient care, Focus Staff ensures that your travel nursing journey is fulfilling, supported, and aligned with your personal goals. Apply today to start a new chapter in your nursing career with a trusted healthcare staffing partner.
