Transportation Supervisor

The Transportation Supervisor role at PFG Customized Distribution is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the transportation and delivery fleet. This role involves supervising associates to ensure top-notch staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and problem resolution. The supervisor works closely with delivery drivers, providing on-the-job training and conducting evaluations to maintain the highest standards of safety and quality. This position requires a hands-on approach, including riding with drivers during training or performance assessments, performing safety and quality observations, and ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and company-specific regulations.

Beyond direct driver supervision, the Transportation Supervisor plays an essential role assisting the Transportation Manager with the day-to-day administrative functions such as calculating driver payroll, reviewing trip logs and expense reports, and identifying or resolving operational issues. They also oversee the maintenance of fleet vehicles, ensuring regular and detailed post-trip truck, tractor, and trailer inspections. This individual must maintain accurate records related to drivers' licenses, driving violations, accidents, and other safety-related data to uphold strict compliance standards.

The role demands flexibility in scheduling, including the requirement to work multiple shifts such as mid-shifts and overnight shifts, reflecting the 24/7 nature of distribution operations.
